Dallas Cowboys’ Michael Gallup Predicted to Sign with Russell Wilson’s Pittsburgh Steelers

Michael Gallup Gives Update On Knee Injury

FRISCO – The Dallas Cowboys hope their goodbye to Michael Gallup hasn’t create a large 2024 roster hole. Meanwhile, there is speculation that the free agent receiver might fill a gap in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ lineup.

Pro Football Network has named the Steelers as the best fit for Gallup in NFL free agency.

“Michael Gallup hasn’t been the same player since tearing his ACL in 2022 but has a 1,000-yard campaign (2019) on his ledger,” PFN writes. “The 6-1, 200-pounder can give the Steelers more size on the perimeter and wouldn’t prevent them from drafting an early-round WR.”

As Cowboys fans know, Gallup hasn’t managed a 1,000-yard season since 2019, and last year, as he struggled to come back from the surgery he recorded 34 catches for 418 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. … all of which deemed his $13 million salary for 2024 untenable in Dallas.

That level of production for the Steelers, though, might be welcome. They currently have George Pickens and not much else on their roster in terms of wideout weapons for new QB Russell Wilson.

Gallup – a high-quality teammate and person during his time in Dallas – has had free agency flirtations with the Panthers and the Ravens. But the Steelers may have the best combination of need and a chance to win big.

The Steelers traded receiver Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers earlier this month, leaving them with Van Jefferson and Quez Watkins as helpers. Can Gallup do more than they can? The Steelers might just wish to find out.
