Jax Taylor is prioritizing his emotional well-being and seeking in-patient treatment for his mental health struggles.
How to Watch
TMZ reported the news on July 30, citing a statement from The Valley cast member’s rep, which read, “Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast. He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
Like Jax’s rep stated, he’s long been open about his mental health battle — especially so in the months since he split from his wife, Brittany Cartwright. During a May appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, for example, Jax noted, “I’m just going through a lot of things with my mental health right now, it’s a real tough process.”
As such, he’s actively been trying to get help.
On WWHL, Jax explained that he’s currently trying to be more proactive about his mental health issues.
“There’s a long, long, list of things I’m currently trying to get some help [with],” he shared. “I really, really need a lot of help. I do.”
“I’m trying,” Jax added. “As you guys know, on Vanderpump Rules, I went through, like, three different therapists.”
Andy asked him more about this, and while Jax admitted that he’s had some bad experiences in the past with therapy — which in turn made him hesitant to “jump back in again” — he more recently shared that he found a doctor he actually likes.
“I met a doctor at my bar and she’s absolutely amazing,” Jax revealed on the June 7 episode of his and Brittany’s shared podcast. “And I went in there and literally just broke down. I’m like, ‘This is what’s wrong with me and this is what I’m doing, and this is who I’m attacking, and I have serious, serious anger issues, and I have a child, and I don’t want him to see me act like that.'”
