UFC CEO Dana White gave a blunt reply with his pick on the longstanding Michael Jordan vs. Lebron James debate. Sports enthusiasts, pundits, and fellow basketball stars have passionately argued over who stands out as the superior player for the longest time.

White offered a no-frills answer when asked to weigh in on the debate during an episode of The Sage Steele Show. He claimed that his fervent admiration for the five-time National Basketball Association (NBA) MVP holds steady through triumphs and flaws. He said:

“Michael Jordan… I don’t ever want to meet him. Don’t ever want to talk to him. I love Michael Jordan. I love the killer that he was. When I watched The Last Dance [docuseries based on Chicago Bulls’ 1997-98 season], I watched it three times. I wear his shoes, and socks still to this day. Just all the things that I hear about Michael Jordan, even the bad… Bad stuff I hear about him I love.”

White, a strong proponent of separating the athlete and their political opinions, added:

“Michael Jordan and LeBron couldn’t be any more opposite that in in my opinion and I don’t judge anybody by their politics. This is America whoever you are and whatever you believe in, knock yourself out but one thing about LeBron. LeBron is one of these guys that became a massive Superstar overnight you never hear anything bad about LeBron.”

Dana White weighs in on whether Michael Jordan could’ve made it as a UFC fighter

Dana White’s admiration for basketball icon Michael Jordan is well-advertised. His reverence for the six-time NBA champion is such that he strongly believes that Jordan could have retained his excellence in any athletic endeavor, including the UFC.

During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast Club Shay Shay, the UFC CEO was asked to weigh in on the athletes who could have made it in the organization. He replied:

“You gotta go with Jordan. Jordan is a killer. I’ve spoken about Michael Jordan many times. Never met him, don’t know him, and don’t want to meet him. I like him too much. I respect him too much. I love his killer instinct. Don’t want to meet him. Respect him to death.”
