The Philadelphia Eagles continue to be viewed as a top NFC contender, and they have Jalen Hurts to thank for that.
Hurts has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league over the past few seasons, giving the Eagles a leg up on their competition.
He embodies the newest generation of NFL quarterbacks, who are not only able to throw efficiently but can take off on the run at a moment’s notice.
Hurts has helped the Eagles adopt the “tush push,” a variation of a quarterback sneak that allows the Eagles to have a better chance of converting on fourth downs and goal-line opportunities.
While Hurts has impressed many around the league with his athletic prowess to this point in his career, it appears that his teammates are taking notice of his physical condition heading into the 2024 season.
DeVonta Smith recently had a conversation with Kay Adams on the ‘Up and Adams Show,’ where he talked about Hurts’ newfound speed.
As Smith told Adams, Hurts “looks a lot faster” heading into the year, but added a caveat that he still couldn’t beat him in a race.

Hurts might be quicker than he has in the past, but he’s no match for Smith, at least in his mind.
Smith and A.J. Brown are viewed as one of the best wide receiver tandems in the league.
With these two elite athletes at his disposal, paired with supreme abilities on the ground, Hurts has set himself up nicely for a dominant season in 2024.
