Myles Garret ranks 5th in NFL Top 100

Garrett is coming off a season in which he won his first Defensive Player of the Year award after tallying 14 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 30 quarterback hits and four forced fumbles. His 14 sacks led the Browns for the 2023 season, tied for third-most by a Brown in a season and finished tied for seventh in the NFL. Garrett is the only NFL player to record at least 14 sacks in each of the past three seasons from 2021-23 and the only player to record at least 10 sacks in each of the past six seasons from 2018-23.

The 28-year-old has already had an illustrious career since Cleveland took him with the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, with five Pro Bowl seasons, three First-Team All-Pro selections and 88.5 sacks – eighth among active players. His 88.5 sacks also place him as the Browns all-time sack leader.

Garrett is a game wrecker, attracting all sorts of blocking schemes designed to prevent the former Texas A&M star from getting to the quarterback. The attention Garrett attracts elevates his teammates, with the Browns leading the NFL in tackles for loss and completion percentage allowed and ranking second in passer rating allowed.

“Teams do everything in their power to make sure he doesn’t make those disruptive plays,” Head Coach Kevin Stefanski said after the season. “So, he’s getting a tight end, the line is sliding to him, they’re running away from him. If you look at his impact overall, it was unbelievable.”

The NFL Top 100 Players list is an annual ranking based on a leaguewide poll of players. The full rankings can be found here.
