In an interview with Robby Sabo and Wayne Chrebet of the Underdog Jets podcast, New York Jets cornerback D.J. Reed discussed various topics surrounding himself and the team.

Reed sent an exciting message to Jets fans regarding what they can expect in 2024.

“One thing I can guarantee is, everybody in that locker room, the 53-man roster, we’re going to give it our all, and we’re going to be deliberate. We want to hold that Lombardi. That’s our goal. We’re going to do everything in our power to achieve that goal,” Reed said.

“For the fans, I know it’s been tough times. We definitely are going to put all our effort, sacrifice for this team to win games. That’s our goal, is to win. I can’t promise that we’re going to win, but we’re going to do everything in our effort to win.”

Another one of the main topics was Reed’s battles with star wideout Garrett Wilson throughout camp.

“Garrett is a great receiver. I think this year, the whole NFL is going to know how good of a receiver he is just because we have eight (Aaron Rodgers) throwing him the ball. The quickness at the line of scrimmage, he has cat-like instincts. He is very smart as well; he watches film and knows what you are going to do. So he has counters, and it’s kind of like playing chess.”

Redd added that Wilson is “really good at the catch point” and has a great “catch radius.”

Later in the episode, Reed talked about the cornerback room with himself, Sauce Gardner, and Michael Carter II in 2024.

“It’s going to be fun. The main thing for us is staying healthy. That’s probably everyone’s main focus, because when we are healthy and on the field, we have been very productive the last two years. We’ve arguably been the best cornerback trio. We definitely want to do that again this year, but it starts at training camp and practice.”
