Former Lions safety, popular with fans, signs one-year deal with Titans

The Titans are adding another former Pro Bowler to their secondary.

Titans sign free agent Quandre Diggs: what to expect from the three-time Pro Bowl safety | Yardbarker

Free-agent safety Quandre Diggs is signing a one-year contract with Tennessee, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday.

The deal — which has a base value of $3 million — includes play-time and performance-based incentives that could make it worth up to $5 million, Rapoport addedA.

Diggs comes to Tennessee having spent the last four-plus seasons out west with the Seahawks, a tenure in which he earned all three of his Pro Bowl nods from 2020 to 2022. In that span he had 14 interceptions, 24 passes defensed and 229 tackles while never missing a start.

The 31-year-old had a career-high 95 tackles in his ninth season in 2023, but saw a downturn in other categories with five passes defensed and a single interception over 17 games.

Now after an extended free agency, Diggs will look to start anew with the Titans.

The move also reunited Diggs with former teammate Jamal Adams. Adams and Diggs played the last four seasons together in Seattle as a starting duo, and then were released on the same day earlier this offseason due to cap space concerns. Adams was signed by Tennessee in early July.

Diggs and Adams will be competing for playing time in a safety room that already features Elijah Molden and Amani Hooker, with what’s left of training camp and the preseason to try and make their case on a new team.

The Titans host the San Francisco 49ers on Aug. 10 to open their three-game preseason slate.
