Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams may wind up playing football together again at some point, but it probably won’t be with the New York Jets.
The 40-year-old Rodgers would certainly welcome the opportunity to rejoin his former Green Bay Packers teammate on the field, and suggested the best chance may be in 2028 when Los Angeles hosts the Olympics. Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, shared the idea with Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show, which was on location in Florham Park this past Wednesday.
“It’s just silly. It’s just a silly question. Of course, I love Davante. I’d love to play with Davante again. It might be in the 2028 Olympics if they let some of the old guys go out and play, but we’ll see,” said Rodgers with a smile.
Flag Football is on schedule to join the Summer Olympics menu in 2028 with a men’s event and a women’s event. If Rodgers and Adams prefer not to wait four more years, they can always link up on the golf course.
“I want him to have great success and I love him. We keep in contact. Mostly, we talk about golf because he’s a fanatic about golf,” said Rodgers.
Both Rodgers and Adams contested the 2024 American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in South Lake Tahoe this past July. Whether it’s through football, golf or even “ping pong,” Rodgers “loves spending time” with his old WR1.
