Packers: Major Updates On 2 Key Offensive Players

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers once again have been dealing with massive injuries throughout training camp. Green Bay was dealing with a lot of injuries a season ago. Christian Watson and Jaire Alexander were some of the players who missed a lot of games last season with injuries.

In training camp, some players who have missed time were Marshawn Lloyd, Josh Jacobs, Edgerrin Cooper, and others. The Green Bay Packers hosted Family Night at Lambeau Field on Saturday night and some players were still out due to injury.

Starting this week, the preseason games will begin before the start of the 2024 season. Is anyone close to returning from injuries?

Green Bay Packers offensive tackle Zach Tom took reps during Family Night on Saturday night 1-on-1 against Spencer Waege. It was a good thing that Tom returned to practice because the offensive line has been dealing with massive issues on the offensive line during training camp.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said about the offensive line to The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman:

“It’s tough on the O-line right now. Certainly, I think the D-line gets frustrated at times because in practice we use a lot of chippers. I’m like, ‘Hey man, that’s a credit to you guys. That’s the ultimate compliment. We feel we have to get four hands on you to block you.’ It’s going to happen during the season. I think our D-line is solid. Hopefully, they continue to get better and improve and just keep coming off the ball the way they are.”

Zach Tom was dealing with a pectoral injury during the offseason. He was the Packers starting right tackle last season. Tight end Tucker Kraft has also been dealing with a pectoral injury this offseason. He has yet to practice in camp for Green Bay.

They hope to get him back in some capacity sometime this week before they face the Cleveland Browns in a preseason game. Kraft last season caught 31 passes for 355 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 11.5 yards per catch. He was targeted 40 times last season.

Tucker Kraft started in some games last season over Luke Musgrave because Musgrave had a lacerated kidney. Kraft will also play a huge role in the Green Bay Packers offense this season with an offense that has a ton of potential.
