Another day, another social media call out from Catelynn Lowell (and/or Tyler Baltierra) aimed at biological daughter Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis.
As Teen Mom fans know, Cate and Tyler placed Carly for adoption immediately after her 2009 birth. While the pair have maintained a relationship with Carly, Brandon and Teresa over the years, there have been many ups and downs along the way–- largely due to Cate and Tyler’s decision to publicly discuss their adoption experience to the dismay of Brandon and Teresa, who have asked the MTV couple not to post about them or Carly (or share photos of Carly’s face) on social media.
Less than three months after Cate and Tyler sounded off on social media after learning they wouldn’t not be getting their annual visit with their biological daughter this year, Cate has once again taken to the Internet to complain about the complicated relationship she has with Carly’s parents.
Cate expressed her current feelings towards Brandon and Teresa Sunday on her Instagram Story, where she reposted a TikTok of a birth mom seemingly criticizing the semi-open adoption arrangement she has with her own biological child’s parents.
“‘Semi open,’ me keeping my cool when the adoptive parents would get mad when I would ask to see my daughter in the open adoption they agreed to,” the text on the TikTok read.
The TikTok reposted by Cate had some harsh words in the voiceover, which seemed to be aimed at Brandon and Teresa.
“You have massively f**ked me over. I will never think of you the same. Enjoy your bad karma, rot in hell, evil bitch.”
While Tyler has yet to chime in on Cate’s recent Instagram Story, fans may remember him coming to Cate’s defense back in May after the pair were denied the chance to see Carly for their annual visit, insisting it was not Carly who had wanted to cancel the visit.
The following week, Tyler went on to address the opinion some ‘Teen Mom’ fans have that Carly will come “running back” to her birth parents once she is an adult and able to make the choice on her own. While Tyler told fans he would “LOVE for [Carly] to be in our lives more and her sisters’ lives,” he said he also understands there is a possibility that Carly may choose to exclude him and Cate (and their three daughters) from her life once she is an adult.
“The truth is, she might turn 18 and want nothing to do with us,” he wrote. “It just might be too difficult for her or she simply might just want to move on with her life & not have us be in involved…& ya know what? That’s OKAY! That is her right! That is her choice! Or she might want to just talk to us one final time & tell us how much our decision to place her has negatively affected her or traumatized her life…& that’s OKAY!
“I would humbly fold my hands behind my back, lower my head & allow her to yell, cry, or scream at me if that’s what she needs,” he continued. “All I would say is ‘I’m sorry. You’re right. I love you.’”
In his (lengthy, per usual) comment, Tyler went on to say that he’s “okay with whatever decision” Carly makes and just wants her “to know how much she is loved.”
Similarly, Cate took to Instagram to recognize Carly’s fifteenth birthday in May, expressing her desire to have a better relationship with Carly and her parents.
“Today is Carly’s 15th birthday!” Cate wrote. “I wonder what kind of day she’ll have and what she’ll do. I wish things were different so we could celebrate with her. I hope she feels our love and has a great day! I look forward to knowing that one day we will be lucky enough to celebrate with her and B&T. I can’t wait for that day!
“[Tyler] we are soooo blessed to have our girls,” she added.
