Jake Paul gives brutally honest prediction ahead of ‘scary’ and ‘violent’ Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul has ominously forecasted a “scary” and “violent” encounter with boxing icon Mike Tyson in their upcoming bout. The Problem Child, who has transitioned from YouTube stardom to the boxing ring with remarkable success since 2020, boasts an impressive 10-1 record.

His list of beaten opponents includes former UFC standouts such as Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Ben Askren. Paul was originally scheduled to face Tyson last month, but the fight was postponed due to health concerns for 58-year-old legend Tyson. They will now do battle on November 15 instead.

Despite the delay, Paul has remained active, claiming a sixth-round TKO over BKFC’s Mike Perry in July, further polishing his near-perfect fight card. With the Tyson fight back on track, Paul anticipates an explosive clash once they meet.

In a conversation with barber Vic Collins on the Deepcut YouTube channel, when asked about his intentions to knock Tyson out, Paul confirmed: “Yeah 100%. I mean, if he has the opportunity to do it to me then he’s going to take it. He doesn’t give a f*** about me – I’m sure he likes me but at the end of the day, when the bell rings and we’re in a real pro fight in front of 80,000 people. If you think for one second that Mike Tyson’s not trying to rip my head off, you’re crazy.

“You don’t play boxing, I’m not in there to mess around. And that’s what he wanted, and so if that’s what the legend wants, and he wants to end me in a vicious way, then I’m going in there with that same mindset and I want to be tested. I know that’s going to happen, it’s not going to be easy.”

However, Paul doesn’t see the upcoming bout ending in a knockout, instead predicting a violent clash that goes the distance. He added: “And I don’t see a world where I knock him out or her knocks me out, I think it’s going to be violent the whole way through. I think there’s going to be a lot of close rounds and I think it’s just going to come down to on the night who wants it more.”

Paul acknowledges Iron Mike’s strengths but backs his own abilities in the ring. He continued: “In terms of experience and power and weight he has the advantage, but in terms of youth, speed and I guess my footwork – being on the outside – my athleticism currently, I have the advantage. So to me it’s really an even match-up and that’s scary but also exciting at the same time.”

Tyson, a titan of the heavyweight boxing world, was crowned undisputed champion in August 1987 – an accolade he defended six times before being upset by Buster Douglas in 1990. After a career spanning two decades, during which he faced off against boxing legends such as Frank Bruno, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Michael Spinks, Tyson hung up his gloves in 2005.

His professional record stood at an impressive 50-6, with 44 of those victories coming by way of knockout. However, Tyson returned to the ring for a one-off exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, which ended in a split-draw after eight rounds.
