Anаlyst Exрlаіns Wһy Jets Are Tһe AFC Eаst Fаvorіtes

After making a big splash last offseason, the New York Jets have been mostly quiet during the 2024 offseason.

The Jets’ biggest move was to sign former San Francisco defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw, bolstering their defensive front.

Is this move enough for New York to capture the AFC East crown for the first time since 2002?

Analyst Brian Baldinger believes so.

NFL Total Access posted a video clip on Twitter where Baldinger called the Jets the team to beat in the division.

“This defense is the reason why I would take the Jets on April 5th to win the AFC East,” Baldinger said.

Baldinger went on to suggest the Jets had the best defense in football, noting their depth at every position.

The analyst also mentioned New York has six former first-round draft picks on the defensive front, allowing the Jets to rotate quality players in and out of their lineup.

Baldinger also praised their linebacker corps, calling the group a “stacked” unit that can both stop the run and defend against the pass.

The secondary unit is also formidable, Baldinger explained, as New York – led by cornerback Sauce Gardner – prevents deep passes from burning their defensive unit.

New York also has a healthy Aaron Rodgers returning in 2024, a fact Baldinger added should help the Jets achieve more victories this season.

The Jets retooled their offensive line to give Rodgers more time to pass while opening holes for the team’s running backs, Baldinger concluded.
