49ers invite WR Terique Owens, son of Terrell Owens, to local pro day

The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up for their local pro day on Wednesday, April 10. According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, the team invited former Missouri State wide receiver Terique Owens, son of Hall of Fame receiver Terrell Owens, to participate.

According to ESPN statistics, the 2023 season was the younger Owens’ most productive season. He tallied 28 receptions for 528 yards, averaging 18.9 yards per catch, and secured four touchdowns with the Bears. Among his teammates, only Raylen Sharpe had more receiving yards (991).

The 49ers were among several teams that observed Owens’ performance during his workout session on March 22 at the University of Missouri’s pro day. The draft prospect recorded a 40-time of 4.51 seconds, a vertical jump of 38.5 inches, and a broad jump of 10 feet, 4 inches.

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reported that Owens measured at a height of 6′ 1 7/8″ before the workout.

When recently asked by NFL Draft Diamonds about his potential contribution to an NFL team, Owens responded, “My ability to get the ball downfield and be a deep threat. And I can make moves after catch to extend plays and get Y.A.C. I able to threaten defenders with my speed.”
