Chris Jones Sends Warning to Rival Teams After Chiefs Latest Signing

Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones has been outspoken this offseason about the decisions the team should make. That has mostly been limited to upgrades of facilities in the wake of the league-wide report cards, though. But the five-time Pro Bowler is very aware of the team’s personnel moves as well, and the latest one caught his attention.

Chris Jones Sends Warning to Rival Teams After Chiefs Latest Signing

The Chiefs re-signed edge rusher Mike Danna to a three-year, $24 million contract, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, adding details to colleague Mike Garafolo’s initial reporting.

Chris Jones Issues Warning to NFL Over Mike Danna

“Let’s gooooooooooooo!!” Jones exclaimed in a post on X on April 5. “Y’all in trouble.”

Danna, 26, set career-highs with 6.5 sacks and 16 starts last season. Originally a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Danna returns to a rotation that includes 2022 first-round draft pick George Karlaftis (10.5 sacks) and 2023 free agency acquisition Charles Omenihu (7.0 sacks).

Jones tied Karlaftis for the team lead in sacks last season, and the group figures to be even more formidable with the former and Omeniu available from the outset of the 2024 campaign.

The Chiefs ranked second in the league in team sacks behind the Baltimore Ravens.

Chris Jones Weighs in on Chiefs’ Stadium Situation

The Chiefs received poor marks for their facilities as the player survey proved to have a wide-ranging impact on the NFL. They hoped to get public funding via a sales tax but saw the public vote against that plan of action.

In the wake of that, former Kansas House Speaker Ron Ryckman Jr. and Dallas, Texas Mayor Eric Johnson are at least floating the idea of the Chiefs moving to their respective states. Jones, irrespective of those opinions, shared his opinion of where the team should play its home games.

“Keep the stadium in KC,” Jones said in one post on March 28 before doubling back to the matter in another a short while later.

“Arrowhead Stadium is legendary,” he said in the other post.

In between those sentiments, Jones called for a new in-stadium DJ, noting the current one “sucks,” and put a Chiefs three-peat into the ether. They would be the first team in history to win three straight Super Bowls.

L’Jarius Sneed Clears Air Over Knee Issue

The Chiefs traded cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans for a swap of seventh-round picks in this year’s draft and a third-round pick in 2025. That return was widely viewed as a bargain and some pointed to potential questions about his health as a reason.

Sneed unequivocally put those rumors to bed during his introductory press conference with the Titans.

“Ain’t nothing wrong with my knee. I’m fine,” Sneed told reporters on April 2. “I played the whole season, and the years before that I played as well. I had a couple problems I had a banged-up knee before. But I’m good right now. Nothing is really wrong with my knee. … I know what to do with my knee.”

Sneed has missed a total of three games in the last three seasons. He also logged no fewer than 94% of the defense’s snaps in that span. That includes a career-high 99% this past season.

That would seem to back his claims that he is healthy.
