NFL Exeс Doesn’t Hold Bасk On Jets QB Aаron Rodgers

When the New York Jets acquired quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers last year, big things were expected.

The Jets were immediately labeled Super Bowl contenders, and Rodgers was already being likened to the modern version of Joe Namath by some in New York.

However, Rodgers ended up tearing his Achilles on the Jets’ first offensive series of 2023, ending his season and Gang Green’s championship aspirations.

But now, Rodgers is ready to return, and New York has reloaded with key additions this offseason.

Many are still not taking the Jets seriously, as the franchise has not made the playoffs in 13 years—the longest active drought in the NFL—and Rodgers is coming off of a major injury.

However, a former NFL executive tells the NFL Analysis Network that he thinks Rodgers will be back with a vengeance in 2024.

“To those who think Aaron Rodgers is going to drop off this season, you’re going to be disappointed,” the former exec said. “He has never been more motivated. His health is great and I’m expecting an MVP-like season from him once again.”

Rodgers may be 40 years old, but he is just three seasons removed from winning back-to-back MVP awards. In 2021, he threw for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 68.9 percent of his passes and posting a league-high passer rating of 111.9.

During his last healthy season in 2022, Rodgers totaled 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 picks while completing 64.6 percent of his throws and registering a 91.1 passer rating.

The Jets are certainly hoping they get the 2021 version of Rodgers next season.

With the Buffalo Bills fading, New York has a great chance to win the AFC East in 2024 so long as Aaron Rodgers remains healthy.
