One thing many Major League Baseball fans can agree on is the bad calls Angel Hernandez makes when he’s behind the plate. The umpire was calling balls and strikes between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon and wasted no time making his presence felt.
With a 3-2 count and Gleyber Torres at the plate, Hernandez rang him up on a strike that was high and out of the zone and should have been called ball four.

The call understandably drew the ire of Yankees fans, and Yankee Stadium broke out in a NSFW chant to make their feelings about Hernandez known.
Making controversial calls is nothing new for Hernandez. He’s been ridiculed by baseball fans for years, and Sunday was no different.
This should be Angel Hernandez’s last game. Enough already.

So the pitcher steps off then steps back on the mound and immediately throws a pitch which is definitely not allowed. The pitch is clearly above the zone and Angel Hernandez still rings up Torres on it. Guy needs to retire.

Angel Hernandez is an embarrassment to baseball and anyone who actually takes pride in being good at their job
The man should never be allowed near a baseball field or diamond of any type ever again

Hernandez also had another egregious call where he called a ball that was right down the middle of the plate. Sunday wasn’t the umpire’s first rodeo, and it’s probably fair to assume that it won’t be his last.
