The Los Angeles Dodgers signed lefty reliever Matt Gage to a minor league deal.

The Dodgers brought back the southpaw after he was designated for assignment by the Boys in Blue on Tuesday and released on Wednesday.

The team brings back Gage, as they will need some bullpen depth at Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 31-year-old posted a 4.48 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP in 37.1 innings with the Houston Astros’ Triple-A affiliate last season. Gage has yet to pitch in the big leagues in 2024.

Gage pitched in five games for the Houston Astros in the big leagues last season. He recorded a 2.70 ERA, eight strikeouts, allowed only two earned runs, and a 1.35 WHIP in 6.2 innings and five games. Gage has a career 1.83 ERA, 20 strikeouts and a 1.07 WHIP in 19.2 innings.
