Browns Look to be Interested in Drafting a Quarterback for The Second Straight Year at The NFL Draft

Cleveland Browns had to start five different quarterbacks during the 2023 season and that’s a spot they don’t want to be back in.

The Browns already have four quarterbacks on the roster; Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Tyler Huntley, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Still, the Browns are showing interest in quarterbacks of the 2024 draft class.

It has already been noted that Cleveland has visited with Tennessee’s Joe Milton . Now, it’s known that the Browns have met with Tulane QB Michael Pratt.

Pratt has played a ton of football, 46 games over four seasons to be exact. In the last two seasons, Pratt has been a pretty efficient passer with 49 touchdowns to 10 interceptions total. During that time he passed for 5,415 yards and completed 64 percent of his passes.

The likely reason for the visit is because Pratt fits the Browns system. He’s a mobile quarterback who ran for nearly 500 yards and posted 10 touchdowns as a junior.

Cleveland needs Deshaun Watson to show he’s the guy of the future in year No. 3 that he’s been in town. The suspension happened, and then the injury happened, so year No. 3 feels like the year it either happens or doesn’t. It’ll continue to be a situation where the Browns will need to have a guy ready to step in to play.

It still seems unlikely the Browns would draft a QB again after taking DTR last go around. Still, the Browns are visiting with quarterbacks and that’s noteworthy.
