Kyrie Irving Highlights Dallas Mavericks’ Mentality That Should Scare NBA Rivals

At some point during the regular season, a lot of critics blasted the Dallas Mavericks for not living up to the potential of their All-Star duo. Now, Kyrie Irving sounds off by revealing the team’s mentality, one that should put the entire NBA on notice.

Dallas Mavericks hope to re-sign Kyrie Irving

Just recently, Dallas ended the Houston Rockets dream of making the playoffs by getting the 147-136 win over them. Irving was in his bag all night long when he dropped 48 points on 60 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent from beyond the arc. Luka Doncic posted 37 points , nine rebounds, and 12 assists, while PJ Washington added 14 points and 13 rebounds.

The Rockets, on the other hand, had a big game from Dillon Brooks when he scored 29 points. Fred VanVleet did a wonderful job of running the offense by making 24 points and 12 assists, while Jalen Green added 21 points and eight assists.

The loss proved to be a nail in the coffin for Houston’s hopes of making the playoffs via the Play-In Tournament. Meanwhile, the Mavericks are building up their much-needed momentum for the playoffs as they strengthen their hold on the Western Conference’s fifth-seed by having a record of 48 wins and 30 losses.

Kyrie Irving Reveals Dallas Mavericks’ Mentality Heading Into The Playoffs

After the game, Dallas’ All-Star point guard spoke to reporters and shared the overall mindset of the team. In a tweet by Landon Thomas on X:

The Mavericks are looking like a different team after the front office traded Grant Williams away and acquired Washington and Daniel Gafford. Dallas boasts a 28-16 record since the start of 2024, a run that has catapulted them to a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

With only a couple of games remaining in the regular season, it’s only a matter of time before Dallas’ opponent will be revealed. If anything, the team’s mentality will surely play a key factor to the Mavs’ success when they meet in the first round.
