DALLAS, Texas. (KCTV) – New details have been released in a Dallas chain-reaction car crash that authorities believe Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice may have been connected to.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers were called to the 6600 block of northbound North Central Expressway for a multi-vehicle accident just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
It was determined that two drivers, one in a Corvette and one in a Lamborghini, were speeding in the far-left lane near University Boulevard. Both drivers lost control and the Lamborghini drove onto the shoulder, hitting the center median wall and causing a chain-reaction collision that involved four other vehicles.
Reportedly, the occupants of both the Corvette and Lamborghini “ran from the scene without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical help.” Their identities are unknown at this time.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Dallas police confirmed earlier this morning that they are searching for Rashee Rice in connection to the collision. Police believe one of the cars involved in the crash may be registered or leased to Rice, but they did not confirm which car.
Dallas police said two other drivers involved in the crash were treated for minor injuries at the scene and two occupants with minor injuries were taken to an area hospital.
Rice is a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs but grew up in North Richland Hills, Texas, a suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro.
The incident is still under investigation.
