The NFL offseason really starts picking up as the calendar clips to April.

Late last week the Browns released their plans plans for the offseason program, which is mapped out as a nine-week schedule with three different phases to it. As a team with a returning head coach, the official start date for voluntary workouts in Berea is set for April 15. Fans can expect to hear from Kevin Stefanski and select players for the first time this spring on Day Two of the program, April 16.

A few days later, General manager Andrew Berry will hold his annual pre-draft press conference with the media on April 18, before the actual event takes the center stage from April 25-27.

Following the draft, Cleveland’s rookies will get their first taste of being part of the NFL during rookie minicamp from May 10-12. Those practices lead into Cleveland’s OTAs, which are spread out as as three different, three-day sessions over the course of three weeks. Those will run from May 21-23, 28-30 and June 3-6. Like the first phase of the offseason program OTAs are also completely voluntary.

Fans will hear from Stefanski and certain players again again on specified days throughout those sessions. It will likely be all eyes on star quarterback Deshaun Watson during this phase of the program as he throws the football in his return from shoulder surgery.

In the week that follows the conclusion of OTAs the Browns will host it’s first mandatory practices in the form of veteran minicamp. That is slated for June 11-13 and represents the conclusion of the offseason prgram before the team breaks for summer. Training camp will then commence at a TBD date in late July and the countdown to the regular season will be on.
