LSU Coach Brian Kelly Reveals Why Dan Quinn’s Commanders Should Pick Jayden Daniels at the 2024 NFL Draft

The Washington Commanders wanted a strong leader. So, they hired Dan Quinn. Now, they are in a dire need of a new quarterback. So, who will it be?

The most pressing question in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft revolves around the quarterback position, which adds significant intrigue to the event. If the Chicago Bears pick Caleb Williams first, who will the Commanders in the upcoming draft go for next? The speculations swirl around three quarterback choices – Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy and Jayden Daniels. However, LSU coach Brian Kelly has a solution to the puzzle for the Commanders’ new head coach, Quinn.

Is Jayden Daniels the perfect choice for the Commanders?

In a latest episode of Path To The Draft on NFL Network, LSU coach Brian Kelly joins the show to talk highly of Daniels, and why the Commanders should go with Daniels as their new quarterback. Kelly emphasized Daniels’ strong work ethic and leadership qualities. The coach expressed, “Every day he’s the first one in the building. He’s respected by his teammates, and leads by example.”

He continued further, “If that’s what you want from your quarterback, you can get out and when the quarterback is your hardest worker and your best leader you got a chance to be successful. So whatever narrative you want to paint about Jayden Daniels and this and that, I was with him for two years, and I’ve been a head football coach in college for 33 years and I have not had anybody that is led in the manner that he has.

Kelly acknowledged that opinions about quarterbacks vary, but he emphasized Daniel’s professionalism and readiness to put in the necessary work to succeed, as evident from his performance on film. So, will the Commanders choose Daniels’ running ability and accuracy over Drake Maye and J.J. McCarthy?

Who will be the next quarterback for Washington?

The Commanders face a big decision in the 2024 NFL Draft. They have no. 2 pick and three quarterbacks in options: Jayden Daniels from LSU, Drake Maye from North California, and J.J. McCarthy from Michigan. Each has unique strengths: Daniels is a dynamic runner and improving passer, Maye has a strong arm and potential, and McCarthy brings leadership qualities.

However, nobody knows who Washington will choose. Even New England coach, Jerod Mayo, admits uncertainty, saying nobody knows Washington’s plans. Commanders GM Adam Peters confirms they are still far from a decision. They’re still evaluating the QBs and will meet them next week.

The intrigue surrounding Washington’s choice will likely continue until draft day on April 25th.
