NFL veterаn іѕ tаkіng а young Cowboyѕ plаyer under һіѕ wіng

Brandin Cooks is one of the most underappreciated players in the NFL.

The journeyman has been on five different NFL teams, and he has produced 1,000-yard seasons on four of them.

Most recently his path took him to the Dallas Cowboys. While Cooks did not necessarily produce to the level many expect him to in Dallas, there is still a chance for him to improve in year two with the team.

That is not all he is doing, however.

Cooks has recently taken a young Cowboys player under his wing, to mentor and teach him.

In the clip above you can see two NFL players, Brandin Cooks and Jalen Tolbert.

It is no secret Tolbert has been disappointing since being selected with the 88th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Since being selected Tolbert has amassed 280 yards and 2 touchdowns on 24 receptions; most of that coming this past season. Although he improved in 2024 and became WR3 by the end of the year, we don’t fully know who and what he is as a player just yet.

It is good to see that Tolbert is working with an established veteran like Cooks; someone who has had success at virtually every NFL team he has been on.

Cooks still has his spot on the Cowboys, but seeing him be the veteran presence this wide receiver room needed, to teach the young players, is a very welcome sight. In addition, seeing Tolbert is taking this offseason seriously, and is willing to learn from established veterans provide some solace for fans in an offseason of not much hope.
