Wһаt аre you һopіng tһe Detroіt Lіonѕ DON’T cһаnge іn new unіformѕ?

The Detroit Lions will unveil new uniforms on Thursday night, ushering in a new era of football since their last uniform changes in 2017. When team president Rod Wood made the news of a uniform change official, fans, players, and graphic designers all offered their thoughts about what the new uniforms should look like.

Whether it is black uniforms, the removal of the William Clay Ford patch, little tweaks and home-grown designs, there has been an endless well of ideas for the new uniforms.

But before we say goodbye to the old uniforms, I thought this would be a good chance to reflect on the 2017 design. In my opinion, these weren’t bad uniforms by any means. I liked them when they initially dropped (excluding the all-grey color rush jerseys, which remain terrible), and I still like them today. There certainly are some necessary tweaks—like with the number font—but otherwise, I had very few complaints.

So today’s Question of the Day is:

What are you hoping they DON’T change from the Lions current uniforms?
My answer: Quite simply, I hope these new uniforms continue to have the two best combinations they’ve played under for the past six years: all-blue (AKA “the blueberries”), and the away white-jersey, blue-pants combination. To me, these are some of the most aesthetically-pleasing designs in the NFL:

Not only are these the two cleanest fits the Lions have worn in a long time, but most of the memories in these uniforms are positive ones. Whereas the black uniforms are associated with the Matt Millen era of endless losing, even the Lions players themselves embraced the “blueberries” as uniforms they never lose in.

So whether you’re superstitious or just like uniforms that are appealing to the eye, you should hope the all-blues and white-top, blue-bottom combinations are here to stay.
