With the release of Michael Gallup a few weeks ago, the Cowboys have no plan to replace him at least for now.
In fact, they don’t have money to replace anyone on the roster.
Having lost five starters this offseason and only signing Eric Kendricks is really going all-in, huh Jerry Jones.

CeeDee Lamb leads the way, followed by Brandin Cooks.
After those two, it’s a free-for-all for that wide receiver 3 spot. Jalen Tolbert looks like the guy as we sit here on Easter Sunday, but that could change.
Seventh-round pick Jalen Brooks, Jalen Cropper and Racey McMath are the only other players they have on the roster right now.
Tolbert out-snapped Gallup 3 or 4 times last year, and he really did do a decent job after he got through his rookie season.
Yet, I didn’t see enough production out of him that will make me feel comfortable with him being the guy to replace Gallup in 2024.
It’s going to be hard to find any space until they do something if/when will all the contracts of Dak Prescott and others to free up enough room to sign someone on the outside.
If they could though, a guy like Hunter Renfrow would be a solid WR3 to stick behind Lamb and Cooks.
He has only seen 87 targets the last two seasons.
Yet, we’ve seen him produce a 103 catches for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns season not that long ago.
Another Late Round Draft Pick?
This team just has way too many holes to worry about taking a wide receiver within the first two rounds.
Unless they shock the world and trade up for a top 4 pick and take Marvin Harrison Jr. I’m not on taking a guy inside rounds one or two.
Maybe a guy like Ricky Pearsall from Florida could be there for them to take on day 2 of the NFL draft in April.
The Cowboys’ second round pick is No. 56 overall. With how deep this receiver draft class is, there should be plenty of potential starting caliber options, even when their second round pick rolls around.
After doing some research on him as I’m a Big Ten guy, and didn’t watch much of Florida this season the only limmitaion he has is probably his vertical speed.

He’s fast enough to get open deep down the field, but he doesn’t have legitimate breakaway speed.
It couldn’t be any worse than riding with Tolbert or someone else.
This is why I think they will just draft someone on day 2 and ride the hot hand each week. WR3 by committee.
I will never forgive Jerry Jones for trading Amari Cooper and signing Michael Gallup to that contract after he just tore his ACL.
It’s hard to tell what this team is going to do, but we should have learned that Jerry is going to depend on unproven players and do things his way and take all the credit if it works. (It won’t).
At the end of the day, all we can do is wait and see what happens going forward.
I hate writing about this team and how they approve every single offseason, and they don’t do anything they say they are going to do.
This front office is going to waste the career of CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons just like they wasted Tyron Smith and Zach Martin.
It’s going to be a long 2024, and I have no idea what to expect once the draft is over.
They traded for Cooks and Stephon Gilmore at this time last year, and it was kinda exciting, it’s been a complete 180 this offseason.
