Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is in line for a big contract extension, and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown thinks he is worth top dollar.
During a recent appearance on the RG3 and the Ones podcast, St. Brown explained what Goff means to the Lions and why he deserves to get paid.
Amon Ra St. Brown on @JaredGoff16,
“He is worth every single dollar that he gets. I can’t wait for him to get paid and be a part of this future (in Detroit) for a long time.”

St. Brown stresses the importance of Goff joining a perennial losing franchise like the Lions and leading them to playoff success as why he should land a contract worth $45-55 million annually.
This past season, Detroit won its first division title since 1993 and captured its first playoff win since January 1992, as the Lions made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game and actually held a 24-7 lead over the San Francisco 49ers before blowing it.
Goff is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he threw for 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 67.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 97.9.
The 29-year-old began his career with the Los Angeles Rams after being selected with the No. 1 overall pick back in the 2016 NFL Draft.
He spent the first five years of his career with the Rams before being traded to the Lions for Matthew Stafford in March 2021.
After a middling season to begin his tenure in Detroit, Goff made the Pro Bowl in 2022 after totaling 4,438 yards, 29 touchdowns and seven picks while completing 65.1 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 99.3.
We’ll see if the Lions hand Goff a massive extension this offseason, and we will see if Jared Goff and Co. can build on their success in 2024.
