The Philadelphia Eagles made a big move when they signed Saquon Barkley.
Last year’s disappointing end to the season made it seem like they needed to avoid crisis, and they did so by bringing in the most prominent name in the running back market.
But as we’ve seen time after time, stacking the most talent doesn’t always lead to wins.
Big paydays also come with big egos at times, and that could lead to locker room issues.
That’s why NFL analyst Craig Carton believes that the Eagles need to take a page from the San Francisco 49ers’ book.
Talking on The Carton Show, he talked about how the Niners have multiple legitimate stars on offense, yet you never see them complaining about their touches — or lack thereof.

Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, and Christian McCaffrey don’t seem to mind whenever a player gets more involved in the offense, knowing everybody will get their touches.
He believes that if the Eagles can replicate that with DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown, and Saquon Barkley, they should have a legitimate chance.
The Eagles had plenty of talent on their roster last season as well, but it seemed like their locker room wasn’t in a good place.
Their late-season collapse was hard to explain, and some think Nick Sirianni could be on the hot seat this season because of that.
That’s why he’ll have to be more than just a head coach; he must manage his personnel and his players and make sure everybody’s on the same page.
