Anthony Taylor Believes Mike Tyson Is Prepping To Be ‘A Lamb To A Slaughter’

With the Mike Perry (0-2) fight out of the way, the ‘Problem Child’ Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) is laser-focused on his upcoming showdown against the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ Mike Tyson (50-6-2, 44 KOs). While many members of the boxing community believe that he is making a bad decision by choosing to fight that boxer, who many were scared to face, those close to Paul believe the outcome is rather surprising. In fact, MMA fighter and Paul’s former sparring partner, Anthony Taylor, is certain that Tyson is a “lamb to a slaughter.”

Talking to Instant Casino, Taylor revealed that Tyson was making a hasty decision by choosing to fight Paul.

“Mike Tyson needs to take a leaf out of KSI’s book and pull out of his fight against Jake Paul. I’ve worked with Jake behind the scenes, and trust me, you haven’t seen what he’s capable of. Tyson is a lamb to a slaughter. I worry about a concussive ending because Jake is a real fighter now. I’ve known him for five years, and he’s developed into a real fighter. When Tyson tires, Jake will make Tyson pay,” he said.

Taylor further mentioned that Paul’s conditioning and training intensity is a level above what Tyson is capable of currently—and strongly suggested that the former champ back out of the fight to avoid facing any dire consequences. “Did you ever see Homer Simpson bide his time, soak up a bit of punishment, and then knock over his exhausted opponent? Well, Mike’s 58, and he’s going to get tired real quick,” he said.

“He Still Punched Like Mike Tyson”

Roy Jones Jr was the last fighter Tyson faced when the duo fought each other in 2020. Jones Jr had a somewhat cautionary message for Paul ahead of their fight. Talking at The Lunch Club podcast, he revealed that Tyson should not be undermined regardless of his age.

“When I boxed him, he still punched like Mike Tyson. If he hits anybody square on the chin, it’s going to be problematic; I don’t care who it is. I like Jake Paul, he’s a good guy and he’s doing good with his boxing stuff,” he said. “If Mike comes out and does what Mike normally does, then it’s going to be a tough situation for Jake. If Jake can stay away from him for four or five rounds, then Jake has a chance, but he’s going to have to do a lot of maneuvering to stay away from him.”
