The Chicago Bears are turning over another leaf with the 2024 off-season. The Justin Fields experiment was officially a wash when they traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze were taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and are looking to take the Bears’ offense to the next level in their rookie seasons.
However, more reinforcements may be on the way in the very near future.
The Chicago Bears Could Land Major Protection For Caleb Williams
Joe Tansey of Bleacher Report highlighted why Chicago should land free agent Mark Glowinski:
The obvious big name on the free-agent market for interior offensive linemen is Connor Williams.
Williams is probably too expensive for the Bears, though, so they have to explore cheaper veteran deals, or wait for players to be cut from other teams.
Mark Glowinski has nine years of experience playing guard in the NFL and he could be a solid option to bring in if the Bears are not impressed with Davis.
Glowinski’s stock is not very high right now because of how the New York Giants’ offensive line played as a whole last season, but in terms of experience, it is hard to find more with Glowinski.
Protecting Caleb Williams will be key for the Bears to get a true gauge on their rookie quarterback. If he develops into the franchise quarterback they hope he is, he will need time in the pocket.
Chicago will open their season at home against the Tennessee Titans on September 8th, at 1:00pm EST.
