The Celtics will be at full strength as they take on the Heat in Game 3 of the first round. They only have one player listed on the injury report in Luke Kornet, who’s listed as probable with his right calf strain. Otherwise, the C’s don’t have any injuries for their entire roster.
Kornet missed Games 1 and 2 as he’s been a reliable bench big man in the regular season. He hurt his calf during practices leading up to the playoffs, but it doesn’t appear serious with the probable designation. C’s coach Joe Mazzulla could call on Kornet for Game 3, but he’s already used an eight-man rotation in Games 1 and 2 thus far.
The Celtics are looking to bounce back after a stunning Game 2 loss at home as heavy favorites. The shorthanded Heat buried them with 3-pointers as the Celtics offense also went cold in the second half. That resulted in a 1-1 tie in the series after a blowout Game 1 Celtics victory.
The series now shifts to Games 3 and 4 in Miami, though the C’s have had success there the past two playoffs with a 5-2 record at the Kaseya Center.
The Heat are still shorthanded going forward as they don’t have star forward Jimmy Butler and former Celtics guard Terry Rozier. But they still stole a road victory against the Celtics in Boston, so they’ll continue to keep the pressure on the C’s. Game 3 is set for 6 p.m. Saturday.
