Chiefs owner’s wife backs Patrick Mahomes amid NFL Top 100 drama

Chiefs owner's wife Tavia Hunt echoes sentiment outlining Patrick Mahomes disrespect in NFL Top 100

Tavia Hunt, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs co-owner Clark Hunt, has become the latest person to criticize the NFL for where they placed Patrick Mahomes in the NFL Top 100 ranking.

As is the yearly custom, the NFL has released a ranked list of the top 100 players in the league and Mahomes, the three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the Chiefs, could only make it into fourth.

In a post on her Instagram story, Hunt backed Mahomes and showed just how highly she rates the quarterback who is so valuable to her husband’s team.

“Patrick Mahomes may end up being the greatest player to ever play football when he’s done. Yet every year, he gets unsolicited motivation in disrespect. First, the Raiders Mahomes Kermit puppets. Now, players rank him No. 4 in #NFLTOP100 of league he has dominated. Good Luck, NFL,” Wolfe said

WHo was top of the NFL Top 100?

For the record, it was Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill who took the top spot with Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson in second and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey in third.

Former Green Bay Packer Bucky Brooks is not in agreement with the prevailing opinion that Mahomes should be higher up than fourth given he was the NFL MVP last season.

On the Monday episode of FS1’s ‘Speak’, Brooks claimed that many people in the NFL world are doing a lot of ‘gymnastics’ to ensure they protect Mahomes’ feelings and are not honestly assessing his quality.

“It’s okay if you’re not number one all the time. You don’t have to be number one all the time. He didn’t have his best year. Look at one point Pat Mahomes had 50 touchdowns and won an MVP. He had 27 touchdown passes last year. Like, based on his standard, he didn’t play to his standard. So how can we say, ‘oh, man, we did him wrong. He should be number one’,” Brooks said.
