Patrick Mahomes has seen and done it all throughout his football career to this point. It’s hard to believe, but he will be entering his 8th NFL season when it kicks off in just a month, making him a true veteran.
Given his incredible success, it can be hard to stay motivated and try to find new ways to improve. But thanks to the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff, Mahomes took part in a strange drill during a training camp practice on Friday.
Patrick Mahomes finds new ways to practice skills
Many fans were stunned to see the quarterback essentially playing a game of “dizzy bat“. To make matters more difficult, Mahomes was also blindfolded, focring him to blindly and dizzily try to hit the throwing targets. Of course, Mahomes hit two out of three impressively.
Some users online mentioned that Mahomes is just “doing side quests” now, trying to find different avenues to excitement. Others mentioned that they now realize how Mahomes became so great: by practicing stuff no one else is doing.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are a little over a month away from their regular season opener against the Baltimore Ravens at home. Kansas City is going for a Super Bowl three-peat.
