Count Colin Cowherd among those with a rather healthy level of speculation that the New York Jets are a Super Bowl contender let alone a playoff-caliber team.
The Jets are coming off a 7-10 season that was actually a pretty good record given that Aaron Rodgers was injured in the first quarter of Week 1.
With a revamped offensive line that should be improved, a healthy Rodgers could and should see the Jets flip that record. Cowherd, however, isn’t buying that the Jets will be any better in the division.
In his ‘Best of the NFL’ preview show, Cowherd doesn’t buy the buzz that the Jets can win the AFC East.
“The Jets third, yes they have a great defense. O-line questions, head coach is defensive,” Cowherd said on FS1 about where he thinks the Jets land in the AFC East.
“Aaron has not taken…more than four snaps in 559 days in the NFL. Hasn’t taken more than four snaps. Sorry about the great defense. Jets third, Patriots fourth.”
Cowherd said that the Bills are his pick to now make it five in a row in the AFC East.
“The Bills have won the division four straight years, I’m giving it to them,” Cowherd said.
Cowherd has the Dolphins in the second in the division but only the Bills making the playoffs from the AFC East.
