Much like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Jaylen Brown, Luka Doncic is next in line to receive the biggest bag in NBA history. After reaching the 65-game mark, the Dallas Mavericks All-Star guard is eligible to make $364 million in the near future.

As it stands, every dollar of that contract may well be worth it for Dallas. Over the course of six seasons, the Slovenian star has shown everyone why he’s one of the best players in the NBA right now. During that period, Doncic has averaged 28.6 points on 48 percent shooting from the field, 8.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

This season, though, Doncic has elevated himself to the next level by leading the NBA in scoring with 34.0 points per game, while making 9.1 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.5 steals on a nightly basis. He’s also shooting 48 percent from the field, 38 percent from deep, and 78 percent from the free throw line.

Thanks to his insane talent and on-court production, the Mavericks have risen to the fifth seed in the Western Conference. If all goes well, Doncic and the Mavs may go on a deep run in the upcoming playoffs.

Apart from his insane performance this season, Doncic has also played 65 games for Dallas. Apart from being eligible to win MVP, he can also bag the biggest contract in NBA history, as shown in a tweet by Bobby Marks on X:

He is now eligible for MVP and All-NBA honors.

Doncic will also reach the super max criteria when he is named All-NBA this offseason.

He will be eligible to sign a five-year $346M super max extension in the 2025 offseason.

The contract would be the richest in NBA history.

He cannot sign in 2024 because of the years of service criteria (has to be 7 YOS),” Marks tweeted on X.

It’s certain Doncic will be named to an All-NBA team this season after putting up insane stats and consistent triple-doubles from last year to this one. Winning the MVP away from Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander may potentially be just an icing to the cake for him.

Whether he wins MVP or not, Doncic has won just by playing 65 games this season. As a result, fans may see the biggest contract in league history named to the Mavs star sooner than later.
