Daniel Jones gave Brian Daboll ideal answer over fighting with Lions players

We’re guessing you’ve already seen all the viral clips of NY Giants players fighting with members of the Detroit Lions. In a bit of a twist, in Day 1 of the joint practices, Daniel Jones found himself in the middle of one of the brawls.

New York Giants OTA Offseason Workouts

Jones saw Lions players ganging up on one of his teammates and he wasn’t going to just sit there and allow it to happen. Even this took Brian Daboll by surprise, who of course had to talk to his $160 million quarterback about it. Jones’ response? Well, it’s one that will surely make you smile:

On the particular play, new Giants lineman Greg Van Roten was down on the ground and a Lions defender was on top of him, shoving him all over the place. Van Roten couldn’t get up because the Detroit player simply wouldn’t allow him to.

Jones saw this, and decided to send a powerful shove into the mix. Next you knew, multiple Detroit guys decided to get in Jones’ face as well. Luckily, nothing bad happened and practice was able to continue, but you already know the Big Blue linemen had to love seeing Danny Dimes defend one of their guys the same way they work to protect him:

Thankfully Jones didn’t throw any haymakers in the same way that Malik Nabers did on Kerby Joseph. That was wild to see, and something Daboll will be discussing with his No. 6 overall pick. With Jones, he definitely doesn’t want him to be getting in the middle of these kinds of fights either.

After all the injury adversity he’s had to battle, the last thing anyone wants to see is Jones get himself hurt over a practice brawl. Still, you’ve got to like the fact that he’s going to stick up for his teammates too. Even Coach Dabes can appreciate that.
