The Philadelphia Eagles have a ton of talent on the offensive end, especially at the skill positions; that’s no secret. So, it’s not super surprising to see them pop up on lists ranking the NFL’s top tandems when it comes to quarterback, wide receiver combinations.
A recent such ranking from Bleacher Report has the duo of Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown slotted as the fifth best quarterback/receiver tandem in the league, behind Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs in Buffalo, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb in Dallas, Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill in Miami, and finally Joe Burrow and Ja’marr Chase in Cincinnati.

“Since the Philadelphia Eagles acquired A.J. Brown, he’s racked up 1,456-plus receiving yards in back-to-back seasons, scoring 18 total touchdowns. Jalen Hurts tossed 17 of those touchdown passes to the star wideout.
“Brown had a solid showing in Super Bowl 57 against the Kansas City Chiefs, hauling in six out of eight passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. . . If Hurts and Brown hook up for more big moments in the playoffs, this could be a top-three tandem.”
The addition of Brown in 2022 elevated the Eagles offense to another level entirely, and the scariest part for opponents is that Brown is just one of the major weapons at Hurts’ disposal. The team also has an extremely reliable tight end in Dallas Goedert, and they added star running back Saquon Barkley in free agency.
Oh yeah, the Eagles also have another elite receiver in DeVonta Smith, who could easily be a No. 1 receiver on most teams in the league. Between Brown and Smith, the Eagles have arguably the best wide receiver duo in the entire NFL.
Last season, Brown and Smith combined for 2,522 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns and they’re both poised to put up major numbers again in 2024 under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
Brown is entering his third season as a member of the Eagles, and the chemistry he has built with Hurts over the past couple of seasons should be beneficial to both players moving forward. It wouldn’t be shocking at all to see the duo ranked even higher on lists like this one next year.
