Philadelphia Eagles safety Sydney Brown was carted off the field during the Eagles’ 2023 regular-season finale against the New York Giants.

It was later revealed that he had torn his ACL and needed surgery.

Brown’s surgery to repair his knee back in January was a success and three months later, he’s feeling ahead of schedule.

“I feel amazing. I can start working out for you right now if you want to,” Brown said, via NBC10. “I feel great. I’ve been kind of in and out of Philly. I’ve been working out with the trainers at my home school in Illinois. (Senior athletic trainer) Jerome (Reid) and (VP of sports medicine/head athletic trainer) Tom (Hunkele) and the crew have been working real hard with me. I feel like I’m miles ahead of where I should really be. I will be ready for when the season comes around.”

Recovery time from ACL surgery is roughly six months, so Brown should be at least ready to compete by training camp at the end of July.

The Eagles originally drafted Brown out of Illinois in the third round of last year’s draft.

It didn’t take long for Brown to adjust to the NFL level as he appeared in 14 games (five starts), registering 45 tackles, three passes defended, one forced fumble and an interception that he returned for a 99-yard touchdown.

With the Eagles extending Reed Blankenship’s contract and signing C.J. Chauncey-Gardner in free agency, it will be interesting to watch and see if Brown can earn a starting job this offseason.
