Travis Kelce is one of the biggest names in the world right now, and that’s thanks to Taylor Swift.
Even the Kansas City Chiefs tight end isn’t afraid to admit that.
During the Chiefs friends and family day at training camp, one fan posted a video of them meeting Travis Kelce. And the best part of it was the wife’s reaction to seeing the tight end.
“You just took my wife’s breath away, literally she just almost died,” the man filming the video said.
And Travis’ response couldn’t have been any more perfect.
“Taylor Swift Effect,” he simply said.
He’s not wrong.
Along with the members of Chiefs Kingdom, Swifties have flocked to training camp hoping to catch a glimpse of Travis.
Travis Kelce spots a Swiftie at Chiefs Training Camp
Every fan wants to catch a glimpse at Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs during training camp, especially considering they are coming off back-to-back championships.
But among those Chiefs fans, a few Swifties have also made their way to Spratt Stadium at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. And Travis made two Swiftie’s day on early in training camp.
On one day, a young fan was wearing a “In My Red Era” t-shirt, which was in the Chiefs colors while also supporting Taylor Swift. And at the end of the practice, the girl got a gift that she will never forget.
“Travis saw my niece, wearing a Taylor @Chiefs shirt, threw his glove, missed, pointed at her, and threw again. And I was completely unhinged and lost my mind. Clyde signed the boys stuff. @tkelce and @Clydro_22 the best thank you!! You made training camp so fun #ChiefsKingdom,” Becky Hardin wrote on X.
And even the NFL had to give the tight end a shoutout for this move.
Yet, while it was a very sweet gesture, it turns out that it wasn’t planned that way. But as Kelce said, it was “fate.”
“I wish it was as true as the video made it seem. I kind of just threw it in the stands. Sometimes fate just (happens) and somebody lands a glove that they didn’t know they’re going to get,” the tight end told reporters on Saturday.
And the Swiftie sightings didn’t stop there.
One fan arrived on Saturday with a sign that read, “Don’t drop the baby! Can I get a picture?”
That reference comes from Kelce’s Eras Tour debut, when he recapped it on his New Heights podcast. Through the entire performance Travis had one thing going through his head: don’t mess up.
“I was up there with three professionals, and you can do no wrong when Taylor’s on stage because she’s the best to do it,” Travis said on the podcast. “The one thing I told myself was do not drop the baby. Do not drop this. Do not drop Taylor on the way to this damn couch. The golden rule was do not drop Taylor. Get her to the couch safely.”
