Later tonight, the Dallas Mavericks have the chance to take down the LA Clippers in Game 6 of the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, and all of Dallas is fired up for the Mavs to have the chance to make it past the first round for the second time since they won the NBA Finals in 2011.
The Mavs are coming off a 30-point Game 5 win, and they have all the momentum going into tonight’s showdown. Luka Doncic finally had an excellent performance as he finished with 35 points, and he is gaining some momentum at the perfect time.
Doncic is still battling a knee injury and a minor illness that has lingered for this entire first round, and he has the chance to shut down all of the doubters who thought the Mavs were frauds in the Western Conference.
Nick Young looks foolish after ridiculously biased Luka Doncic take
One person who seems to think the Mavs and Doncic are frauds is former Clippers swingman Nick Young, and he even went as far as to say that “they already cheating for Luka,” on his personal Twitter on Wednesday night during Game 5.
This tweet was inferring that the referees were calling the game in favor of Luka and the Mavs, and his comments were grilling him for this casual take. This is not the first time that Young has said something negative about Doncic, and not even the refs could have saved the Clippers from how the Mavs dominated them on Wednesday night.
The Mavericks’ win in Game 5 had nothing to do with the referees giving them more calls. It had to do with Doncic’s dominance, role players such as Derrick Jones Jr. and Maxi Kleber stepping up, and the Clippers’ poor shooting night.
Young trying to make it seem like the NBA would “cheat” in favor of Doncic and the Mavs is a horrendously bad take, and anyone who has been watching this series would tell you the same thing.
There have been bad calls against both teams in this series, and Young may just be mad that Doncic and the Mavs are showing everyone that they are one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
For all the latest on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks throughout the 2024 NBA Playoffs and beyond, stay tuned.
