All Michael Busch needed was a chance to play every day. He wasn’t going to get that with the Los Angeles Dodgers so he was traded to the Chicago Cubs before the regular season began.
All Busch has done in Chicago is tie a Cubs’ franchise record with a home run in five consecutive games.
The feat by Busch tied a Cubs record, which is shared by Christopher Morel (2023), Sammy Sosa (June 1998), Ryne Sandberg (August 1989) and Hack Wilson (July 1928).
Michael Busch, who the Dodgers traded to the Cubs this offseason for Jackson Ferris and Zyhir Hope, has hit a home run in five straight games, tying the Cubs' franchise record.

When Busch makes solid contact with a ball, audible gasps can be heard throughout the Cubs dugout.
“The thing that I’ve been impressed with is the damage that he’s capable of doing,” Cubs manager Craig Counsell said. “That’s raw power. That’s power that’s in there.”
“It’s always nice to get off to a good start,” Busch said after hitting his fourth home run. “My favorite part about it is, when you play well, you’re only helping the team. But obviously, we’re still in April. So, let’s just keep building and keep working and try to keep going.”

Counsell describes Bush as consistent. He attributes it to his personality and his approach at the plate.
“You hit homers in four straight games – you just don’t say that very often about anybody,” Counsell said on Sunday before he hit the fifth on Monday. “He’s really, really kind of driving the bus for us offensively the last couple days.”
Monday was his fifth straight game with a home run. Busch will have the opportunity to set the Cubs’ franchise record on Tuesday night.
