Green Bay Packers Sky Rocket As Favorites To Add 21-Year-Old Star

The Green Bay Packers have made some surprising moves so far this off-season.  Moving on from David Bakhtiari and Aaron Jones top the list of surprising moves.  It has been equally surprising to see the team add Xavier McKinney and Josh Jacobs.

The Packers will continue to add pieces to the defense as they continue their overhaul on that side of the ball.  Now reports are surfacing of the next move that could be huge for Jeff Hafley’s crew.

The Green Bay Packers At The Top Of The List To Add 21-Year-Old Ball Hawk

Matt Holder of Bleacher Report explained why Green Bay is the best fit for Safety Kamren Kitchens:

While the Packers signed Xavier McKinney in free agency, they also lost Darnell Savage and Jonathan Owens while Rudy Ford remains unsigned. So, the team could still use some help at safety especially since those three took a significant amount of snaps last season.

While Kamren Kinchens’ poor 40-yard-dash time at the NFL Combine might scare some teams away, he posted a much better number at Miami’s pro day clocking in with an unofficial 4.57, according to Inside the U’s David Lake.

Also, the former Hurricane’s range wasn’t a problem in college as he racked up 11 interceptions and 15 passes defended during his three-year career. In Green Bay, Kinchens could be the ball hawk the team is looking for and would have a solid veteran mentor in McKinney.

The Packers Will Do Something To Address The Other Safety Position

The Packers let Darnell Savage and Jonathan Owens walk in free agency.  Adding Xavier McKinney was a huge step in the right direction, however, the Packers will have more work to do in order to field a competent secondary.

Not only will the need to add another Safety, but they’ll likely add another cornerback as well.

New Defensive Coordinator Jeff Hafley made it clear how important not only Safety is to his defense, but the secondary as a whole.
