The former wide receiver of the Los Angeles Chargers, Mike Williams, has recently signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets. During the annual league meeting, the head coach, Robert Saleh, shed light on the new acquisition.
In last season’s Week 3, the wide receiver suffered a torn ACL. According to Saleh, he has “a long way to go” but the expectation is there and the squad believes that he will be prepared for the next season.
Robert Saleh details Mike Williams' timeline and what he will bring to the Jets:

According to SI, Saleh stated, “Mike, he’s got a long way to go. He’s on the same timeline that Breece had. They’re very similar injuries, same time frame. He knows he’s got a road to trek, but at the same time, if he does it the right way, we’re very confident we’ll have him ready for Week 1.”
Williams was selected in the 2017 NFL Draft in the first round as the 7th pick and was picked up by the Los Angeles Chargers, with whom he played from 2017 to 2023. He suffered an ACL tear in the game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Saleh further mentioned, “He’s a dynamic receiver. We’ve been a big fan of his for a while. You say 50-50 ball, but it’s more 70-30 when it goes up to him. He’s got work to do, but excited if he can accomplish the work that he needs to accomplish, he’ll be a tremendous asset to not only himself but to the organization.”
Before sustaining the injury, the prominent wide receiver registered 19 passes for 249 yards, including a touchdown. He has played 88 career games, posting thirty-one touchdowns and 309 receptions for 4,806 yards.
