A devastating 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in last year’s NFC Wild Card round meant it was back to the drawing board for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The organization has made moves over the offseason and will start the 2024 season with a new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore. The former Los Angeles Chargers coordinator brings with him an expansive and dynamic offense that could be the difference for a franchise that is desperate to return to the Super Bowl.
It is always difficult when a quarterback has to become familiar with a new system but Jalen Hurts sees it as an opportunity to learn and grow. The 25-year-old has worked with several different play callers over his career and understands that he will need to adapt to Moore’s vision for the offense.
“I’m just all ears. I’m a sponge. I think there’s some beauty in that. I’m just in sponge mode. I’m letting them do what it is they’re going to do, and then we kind of adjust from there,” said Hurts per ESPN. “I think the thing that we all have to understand is the importance of a foundation in something.”

Along with a new offensive coordinator, Hurts will also be working alongside a new running back in Saquon Barkley. The two-time Pro Bowler recently signed a three-year deal with Philadelphia. Star receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown will both return next year as well, offering Hurts plenty of weapons.
Since joining the league in 2020, Hurts has been exceptional. Under his leadership, the Eagles have reached the playoffs in three consecutive seasons and fell just short of a championship in 2022.
The one issue for Hurts seems to be the lack of continuity in the offensive system but the former Alabama star is working through that.
“I think as a player, I definitely yearn for the sustainability and the consistency there,” said Hurts.
