After coming off a forgettable season that was derailed due to a season-ending Achilles injury suffered by superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets are looking to bounce back with a vengeance during the 2024 NFL season.
The Jets have been among the most aggressive teams in the NFL during this offseason as it seems the franchise is determined to make the best of having Rodgers under center, even though it is uncertain whether he’s the same player after suffering the Achilles injury.
Along with adding linebacker Haason Reddick, left tackle Tyron Smith, and wide receiver Mike Williams, the Jets have the No. 10 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, where the team can bring in another potential game-changer for next season and beyond.
Although most people believe the Jets will try to land one of the best wide receivers in the draft at No. 10, New York could address the tight end position by bringing in the best player at the position in this draft class, who would be Brock Bowers out of Georgia.
According to John Ewing of BetMGM, the Jets are the favorite to draft Bowers on April 25.
The addition of Bowers would give Rodgers another talented target in the passing game, which already includes Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Tyler Conklin, and Williams.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Jets do in this draft, as it could be argued the team needs help on the offensive line more than the passing game in order to protect Rodgers, with offensive tackle Joe Alt out of Notre Dame being an intriguing option if he falls to No. 10.
