The New York Jets were supposed to do something special last season after trading for future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the offseason.
But Rodgers tore his Achilles on their first offensive series of the year, and as a result, the Jets sank beneath sea level and missed the playoffs for the 14th straight year.
Rodgers has vowed to return, and after the additions of wide receiver Mike Williams and offensive lineman Tyron Smith, some feel New York could be successful this fall and winter.
But Joy Taylor made it clear on FS1’s “Speak” that she doesn’t think the team will finish first in the AFC East.

Taylor’s reasoning is that at age 40, Rodgers has lots of wear and tear on his body, which will make it unlikely that he will be able to play at a high level following his devastating injury.
Rodgers has been one of the league’s greatest quarterbacks over the last 15 years, and he has been named the NFL’s regular-season MVP four times, which is more than anyone else other than Peyton Manning.
But all good things come to an end, and it is very possible that his Achilles tear will render him immobile this fall.
However, if Rodgers is still able to play at a high level, there is an opportunity for the Jets to have a winning season.
They still have studs such as wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall, plus a number of stars on defense.
But the AFC East and the entire conference will be extremely competitive, and thus they will have to kick things into overdrive to prove Taylor wrong.
