LeBron James attempted to lead the Los Angeles Lakers back on track against the Denver Nuggets in the third round of the playoff series game. Despite the loss, D’Angelo Russell bore the brunt of criticism for his scoreless performance, given his status as the franchise’s third-best player. Stephen A. Smith weighed in on the struggling guard’s performance during his analysis of the game.
Stephen A. Smith talked about Russell’s decision not to join the Lakers’ team hurdle while also making a strong statement that LeBron James doesn’t deserve a player like that.
LeBron James doesn’t deserve a teammate like that. Somebody like that that’s not that prioritized, not that focused. Get rid of him. Stephen A. Smith said via First Take
D’Angelo Russell‘s action drew the ire of fans as he refused to join in the team’s hurdle during the final minutes of the game. It was a frustrating game for the starting point guard, who missed all seven of his shots from the field and finished the night with no points on the board.

James and Anthony Davis together had 59 points but were never good enough to finally get one over the Nuggets, who seem to never lose against the Purple and Gold as they won 112-105. And with D’Lo not providing the required firepower to back his other teammates, the Lakers’ chances now hang in the balance.
LeBron James’ statement on the Denver Nuggets post Game 3
LeBron James, from the look of things, hasn’t found a way to hack the Denver Nuggets despite facing previous big teams with their big-name players. This rivalry has turned to one of admiration, as he has great words for the franchise.

He shared his thoughts on the Nuggets after the game and was full of praise for the team. From their preparation to the coaching, he duly gave them their flowers.
This team is definitely well-equipped, well-prepared, well-coached, they do not have a weakness offensively. Every guy they put on the floor, especially their starting lineup they’ve been one of the best starting 5s in our league over the last few years; they got shotmakers, they have playmakers, guys who can rebound, assist, things of that nature. LeBron James said
With the Nuggets on par to become the first team to eliminate LeBron James in the first round of any NBA Playoff game, they can achieve that on Saturday. For the last game in the series, D’Lo must prove himself and explain why James deserves him as a teammate.
