Recently, Team USA had their second game of the group stage of the Olympics against South Sudan. After their last matchup in which South Sudan almost had an upset over the USA, they hoped to get the win this time. However, the Americas were prepared this time and won the game with the final score of 103-86.
After the game, LeBron James dubbed Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo as the new Splash Brother. He even hilariously called him “Bam Bam Splash.” Adebayo had a great shooting performance and went 2-3 from the three and had an 80% efficiency shooting. Bam Adebayo was named the starter over Joel Embiid which proved to be a great decision.
Adebayo was the leading scorer with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Thanks to him Team USA pulled off an impressive victory and are currently 2-0 in the tournament as they head for the quarter-finals.
The “Splash Brothers” term was coined for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson for their great three-point shooting. Both Curry and Thompson managed to win four championships through their flawless shooting. Looking at his recent games Adebayo could certainly adopt the nickname for himself as well.
Bam Adebayo responds with a 50 Cent meme to Brian Windhorst for his comments
NBA insider, Brian Windhorst was seen on the Pat McAfee show where he made certain comments about Bam Adebayo. Windhorst stated that South Sudan had a very versatile bench with many athletic big men in the lineup. Subsequently, he believed Adebayo would get benched for the matchup. After these comments, it doesn’t seem that Adebayo will be on great terms with Windhorst.
After the game, Adebayo hilariously responded to the Windhorst on social media with a 50 Cent meme:
Ultimately Brian Windhorst’s words have lost all validity considering just how dominant Adebayo was in this contest. Unsurprisingly, Adebayo will be a great asset to Team USA and will look to make his mark and win his first gold medal.
