USA Basketball recently formed one of the best teams in the history of basketball. The current Stacked Team USA featured a mix of NBA veterans and young stars. Team USA certainly selected the best of the best with stars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant being some of the notable names of the team.
On Saturday, Team USA went up against France in the finals of the Olympics for the gold medal. It was one of the most thrilling games in Olympic history. Both teams were seen going back and forth with each other. Eventually, the USA came up on top with a great performance by Stephen Curry in the clutch moments of the game. As such, they managed to win their fifth consecutive gold medal and went undefeated in the whole tournament.
After Team USA won the gold medal, LeBron James gave an interview. James was asked if he has a name for the current Team USA just like the previous USA teams like the ‘1992 Dream Team’ and the ‘2008 Redeem Team.’ In response, James called the current USA team ‘The Avengers.’ Fans already highlighted this name for the current team after they saw LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant teaming up together.
The team will certainly go down as one of the greatest teams besides the Dream Team and Redeem Team. The players deserve a break before their NBA season starts.
The USA Big 3 delivered on all expectations in the Olympics
Basketball fans were full of joy when USA Basketball announced that LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry were going to team up together for the Olympics. But with the joy also came many expectations. USA delivered throughout the tournament with the Big 3 being one of the main reasons for the victory.
Many thought with such star power, there might be an overlap but all three stars coexisted perfectly. James was the leader of the team and was running through every play. Durant was impeccable throughout and even became the highest leading scorer for the USA. Curry had a slow start to the tournament but eventually found his rhythm which was the main reason for his victory in the semi-finals and the finals.
The team overall did great with other players also giving their best in helping the team win the gold. It will be certainly one of the most memorable for all the basketball fans.
