Malachi Corley Crushes it: Rookie has Huge day at Jets Camp

It was a big day for the Jets offense today as Aaron Rodgers and company completely dominated in the red zone with Rookie Malachi Corley taking advantage of increased targets.

Breece Hall

With slot receiver Xavier Gipson on the shelf for a couple of weeks, Corley saw his number called in a variety of roles and did not disappoint. He caught TD passes from Aaron Rodgers and rookie Andrew Peasley. The one from Rodgers was a diving catch on a floater in the back of the end zone and from Peasley it was a screen pass that Corley took the distance.

Lining up all over the field, Corley also scored on the ground when the Jets gave him a look on an end around. The need for Corley to improve his route running is well known. But this doesn’t mean he can’t be active and productive if the Jets play to his strengths.

Other Notes from Camp Today:

Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson spoke about their animated sideline discussion the other day that was blown out of proportion by some outlets. The two were clearly frustrated as the defense was winning the day and wanted to work through some things.
Speaking of Wilson, he had three touchdowns of his own as he continues his dominant camp. If both he and Rodgers stay on the field this season, the Jets record books will likely need some updating.
Breece Hall also stood out as he made several big catches out of the backfield and earned high praise from Rodgers after practice. As a unit the Jets defense got beat up pretty good today as the offense had their way with them, but Chuck Clark had a solid day. Clark broke up a potential TD pass to Jeremy Ruckert as he got his hand on the ball in the end zone. A healthy Clark should be a huge boost to the Jets secondary in 2024.
Defensive tackles Javon Kinlaw and Quinnen Williams teamed up for a splash play as Williams picked off an Aaron Rodgers pass that was deflected at the line by Kinlaw.
Second year edge rusher Will McDonald spoke to the media about the benefits of working across from future Hall of Famer Tyron Smith.
