Dylan Raiola has been compared to Patrick Mahomes by fans for his fall camp look. But the Nebraska Cornhuskers QB believes that is exactly where the comparison ends for him.
“I just try to mimic my game after myself. But it also, if you’re trying to get to where you want to get to, you have to see and know what it takes to get there. And I think he’s done more than enough to see what it takes. So it’s just learning and learning football. But yeah, just try to do my thing and the hair I guess looks like him,” On3 quoted Riola as saying.
The comparisons started on the first day of fall camp when Raiola arrived for practice with a Mahomes-like hairstyle. Not only that, he even had the gotee and shades like the former Texas Tech QB. So far, it is about the looks, but Raiola would surely want to put up some numbers like the Chiefs QB on the field.

The 19-year-old might find himself thrust into the action sooner rather than later for the Cornhuskers. If he turns out like Mahomes, there can’t be anything better for his team in the Big 10. For Raiola, though, it’s just the process of learning football.
Patrick Mahomes’ reaction to Dylan Raiola’s lookalike appearance
After Dylan Raiola appeared at the Nebraska camp looking like Patrick Mahomes, he got an instant approval from the Chiefs signal caller. Mahomes took to X to share his reaction, jokingly calling the freshman QB his little cousin. He was reacting to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s take on the look.
“Boy ain’t no way,” Hill said on the matter, tagging his former teammate.
Mahomes took the comparison in a stride and replied:
That’s my lil cuzzo https://t.co/JERaDk44ix

“That’s my lil cuzzo.”
Raiola will be competing with Heinrich Haarberg for the starting position for the Cornhuskers. Whether he gets it or not is a question that only head coach Matt Rhule can answer, although he has already shown confidence in the freshman’s abilities. Another freshman QB Daniel Kaelin is also an option that Nebraska could use if needed. Will Dylan Raiola be able to perform if called upon?
